Hannah never imagined the son she spent her whole life protecting would be the same person who tried to take away everything she owned.
When Ethan and his wife Claire lost their jobs, they arrived at Hannah’s door desperate and asking for help.
Without hesitation, she welcomed them into her home and told them they could stay as long as they needed.
But soon, their request became bigger.
Ethan convinced his mother to transfer the house into his name, claiming it would help him get a loan and rebuild their future.
Trusting her only son, Hannah agreed.
She thought she was helping her family.
Instead, she slowly became a stranger in her own home.
She gave them the larger bedroom, cooked their meals, paid for extra expenses, and even used her retirement money while they searched for work.
But the gratitude disappeared.
Claire stopped thanking her, Ethan became distant, and Hannah started feeling like a guest in the house she had spent years building.
Then one afternoon, everything changed.
Hannah returned from shopping and found her suitcase sitting near the front door.
Claire stood there with crossed arms while Ethan avoided eye contact.
“We think you’d be happier somewhere with more care,” Claire said coldly.
Hannah looked at her son, waiting for him to defend her.
He didn’t.
“Mom, please don’t make this harder,” Ethan whispered.
The woman who had sacrificed everything for him was suddenly being pushed out of her own home.
Heartbroken, Hannah left with nothing but her purse and a few belongings.
That night, sitting alone in a shelter, she cried until the pain turned into determination.
She reached out to an old friend who happened to be a lawyer.
The next morning, one phone call changed everything.
Richard’s voice was calm when he revealed something Ethan never expected. The house transfer was not legally complete, and Hannah was still the true owner. The mistake Ethan made while rushing to take control was about to destroy everything he had planned.
