The safest response is not to spring out with the engine on and the keys in the ignition. Look around first. If the street feels empty or someone is lingering too close, stay inside, lock the doors, and drive to a lighted, busy place before you deal with the bottle. If you do remove it, keep the door open beside you and the car ready to leave. Never leave valuables in view. Lock the car even if you plan to be gone for a few seconds.

A bottle on its own does not prove a crime is underway. Wind, kids, and careless recycling put trash against tires every day. Panic helps no one. Awareness does. The same habit that protects you here protects you everywhere: keys with you, doors locked, phone and wallet out of sight, and no assumption that a quiet parking lot is harmless.

The point is to refuse the one move that makes theft easy—leaving a running car empty because something unexpected made a noise.
