The Secret to Keeping Flowers Alive 2

Part 2: The Little Routine That Changed Everything

The next time Lily brought home fresh flowers, she remembered every piece of advice.

She trimmed each stem at a 45-degree angle before placing them in a clean vase filled with cool, fresh water. Every two days, she replaced the water and washed the vase to keep it free from bacteria. She removed the leaves below the waterline so they wouldn’t rot and spoil the water.

Instead of placing the bouquet in direct sunlight, she found a cool, bright spot away from heaters and ripening fruit. Every morning, she spent a few moments checking the flowers, removing any fading petals and giving them fresh water whenever they needed it.

To her surprise, the bouquet stayed fresh for nearly two weeks. The flowers looked just as cheerful as the day she brought them home.

From that day on, Lily realized that flowers don’t stay alive because of magic—they bloom longer because someone takes the time to care for them.

Sometimes, the smallest acts of care create the longest-lasting beauty. 🌸
